- Liability Insurance Supplement
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
These plans are optional, apply only within the United States, and are limited to the driver named in the Rental Agreement.
1. Liability Insurance Supplement
The liability protection plan provides financial coverage for damages or injuries you may cause to third parties. Coverage is provided up to the statutory state minimum liability requirements of the state where the incident occurs.
Conditions and Exclusions
- Coverage applies only if the protection plan is selected and paid for at the commencement of the rental.
- Liability protection is limited to the statutory state minimums and does not include personal injury protection (PIP) for the renter or passengers, nor uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.
- Coverage is void if the rental vehicle or liability protection was obtained through fraud or misrepresentation.
- Use of the vehicle outside the United States, including Canada or Mexico, is excluded.
- Liability protection will not cover intentional damage, reckless operation, off roading, or any use of the vehicle in violation of the Rental Agreement.
2. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
The CDW limits your financial responsibility for physical damage to the rental vehicle to a $1,000 deductible per incident. Covered damages include those caused by accidental collisions, theft, vandalism, or natural events such as hail or storms.
Conditions and Exclusions
- The CDW applies only if selected and paid for at the commencement of the rental.
- Coverage is limited to the driver listed in the Rental Agreement and is void if the rental vehicle or coverage was obtained fraudulently.
- The CDW does not cover damage caused intentionally, through gross negligence, or while driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- The CDW does not cover loss or damage to personal items in the vehicle.
- The CDW does not cover use of the vehicle outside the United States, including Canada or Mexico.
- The CDW does not cover unauthorized use, such as off-road driving, commercial purposes, or operation by a driver not listed in the Rental Agreement.
3. General Terms
These protection plans are optional add-ons available during the booking process. If you decline or fail to pay for the selected plan, you assume full liability and financial responsibility as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Coverage is limited to the duration of the rental period and is void if the vehicle is used in violation of the Rental Agreement. This includes unauthorized drivers, fraudulent activity, or geographic use outside the United States.
Protection does not include roadside assistance, personal injury coverage, or liability beyond the statutory minimum requirements. Renters are encouraged to secure additional coverage through their personal insurance or travel insurance provider.
4. Claims and Reporting
In the event of an incident:
- The renter must immediately notify Veygo via text or call and provide all required documentation, including police reports or accident reports as applicable.
- For liability claims, the renter must cooperate fully with investigations and any subsequent legal proceedings
- For CDW claims, the $1,000 deductible must be paid at the time of the claim, and coverage is subject to verification of compliance with these terms.
5. Important Notices
The protection plans are designed to provide limited coverage and should not be considered a replacement for comprehensive insurance policies.
- Liability Coverage and CDW are only valid if explicitly selected and paid for.
- Protection is void if the coverage or vehicle was obtained through fraud, or if the vehicle is used outside the United States, including in Canada or Mexico.
